Principal’s Message
I would like to welcome our current students and their families to the new school year. Clarence Fulton Secondary School is located in Vernon, British Columbia and serves grades 8 through 12. The school is nestled along Vernon Creek and is surrounded by Grahame Park which provides baseball diamonds, soccer, rugby and football fields, sand volleyball courts and outdoor basketball courts. Our high school classes have been organized to provide diverse learning opportunities for our students. Many outstanding programs have contributed to a strong reputation for our students and our school. Our athletic teams regularly participate in provincial championships. Each year, our Global Education program takes their students to Nicaragua for an extended stay while working at an orphanage. Our Wetlands Centre of Excellence offers students a hands-on learning opportunity involving the grounds of the school. Our Culinary Arts program teaches cook training to students as well as providing healthy choices for lunches and snacks. Our focus on literacy, numeracy and the improvement of these skills in all of our students is having an impact on the overall success of our students. Please take the time to review our school goals on page 3 of our School Planning Council Report. We offer a Hybrid timetable with a base of Copernican courses which allows students to focus on two courses for ten weeks before beginning new courses. At the grade 8 level, students have 4 courses that are semesterd and 4 courses that are on the Copernican System. The school is organized into four terms to facilitate this timetable. Our academic success rates have remained consistently high and the staff and students continue to strive for excellence that will allow the best transition beyond high school.Our website is a growing communication device and we encourage your feedback on the information provided.
